New lab server
Earlier this year, we got a new lab server from Supermicro to experiment with. This is a great asset to speed up our work and to set up and learn new environments. We do a lot of experimentation with docker environments and this server is perfect for that.
We love playing with new stuff so, naturally, we try new technologies all the time. For that, you need a good system so that you don’t experience any lags. You might think that a certain service is slow or unoptimised if you have a slow workstation. We won’t have a problem with that anytime soon thanks to our new machine.
Specs

256GB of DDR4 ECC RAM
Intel 2TB of NVMe storage
Gigabyte RTX 2080 Super OC 8GB

Usage
As we said before, we use this new lab server for testing, development and trying out new technologies. Some technologies that we’ve tried so far are:
Docker
Nagios
NodeJS
OO Chat Ops with Mattermost
Nginx
There are a lot more we already tried and a lot more we would like to try. Any cool technology we encounter will have its own article in our articles. You can already see a lot of articles about Bot Framework SDK and ChatBot development because we really liked the SDk and all the possibilities it offers. It can, however, be a little difficult to get a hang of so we went in depth with it, hence the bigger number of articles about that subject.
Why are we talking about this now? Well, guess where our ChatBot is running and where we test and develop it.
